The Star-Interop project promotes interoperable packages of standard interfaces for PHP.

It attempts to codify prevalent PHP standards using something like a "common law" approach by:

• researching pre-existing packages,
• reflecting on their similarities,
• reconciling their differences, and
• refining the results.

This approach produces a summary of common practices adopted independently by many different authors attempting to solve similar problems.

As such, each Star-Interop Standard Interface package codifies the widely-held expectations regarding its central concerns.
